Coleen Nolan RETURNS to Loose Women for the first time after explosive Kim Woodburn row

Coleen Nolan looked close to tears as she made her return to Loose Women, months after a very public spat with Kim Woodburn.

The panellist pulled out of TV commitments and postponed her solo tour after an on-air argument erupted with her former Celebrity Big Brother co-star earlier this year, which saw Nolan targeted by a tirade of online abuse.

Arriving in the studio, 53-year-old Nolan was greeted by a cheering audience, leaving her visibly emotional at the support.

Nolan said: "That was very nice. Don't make me cry. Everyone's been great and it's like coming home."

Viewers inundated her with well-wishes online as they welcomed her "home". One tweeted: "Yaaaaaay Coleen is back on Loose Woman that's fantastic Coleen is a legend and she is the best person on the panel yaaay (sic)."

Another commented: "Great news, welcome back."

Nolan’s exit came after the pair, who initially feuded on the reality show, clashed on Loose Women in September before Woodburn stormed off after branding Nolan "trash".

Viewers turned their anger to Nolan, who could be heard muttering under her breath while Woodburn spoke about her childhood.

A statement from Nolan's team on Twitter said: "Following the constant online bullying, trolling, and misrepresentation of her words, actions and re-actions, it is with sad regret that Coleen is taking an immediate hiatus from all her current commitments including Loose Women and postponing her Never Too Late solo concert tour.

"Coleen is devastated to let her supporters and fans down, but is currently not strong enough to withstand this constant and unfounded online abuse, so she will be taking time out and spending it with her children and family where she feels loved and respected.

"Coleen has spent 50 years in show-business and 18 years as one of the most loved members of the Loose Women panel, and has never been subjected to such a horrifying torrent of online abuse or such a heart-breaking attack on her reputation."

The statement concluded that Nolan would return to work once she “feels stronger.”

Loose Women is on ITV, weekdays at 12:30pm
