Coleen Nolan has revealed she’s voting for her ex hubby Shane Richie to do every trial as he takes part in this year’s I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
The TV favourite entered Gwrych Castle last weekend alongside fellow celebs Mo Farah and AJ Pritchard.
And Coleen has confessed she can’t wait to see him compete in the trials.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the Loose Women panellist revealed: “I said to him, ‘I’m going to vote for you to do every trial,’ and he said, ‘Well I’ll be able to do the eating trial because I put up with your cooking for years!’
“I couldn’t even argue because it’s very true.”
Shane and Coleen were one of the hottest showbiz couples of the Nineties, with a marriage that spanned almost the entire decade.
But behind the scenes, their once-idyllic romance crumbled under the weight of Shane's infidelity, leaving Coleen heartbroken.
Both have spoken about the tumultuous ups and downs of their marriage, but the pair seem to have put their past behind them as Coleen throws her support behind her ex.
Asked how she’s feeling about her ex-hubby doing the show, Coleen said: “I’m so excited!
“He FaceTimed the boys [their sons Shane, 31, and Jake, 28] just before they took his phone away and I was talking to him on FaceTime and he was so nervous.”
She’s got high hopes for him as she added: “I think he could be in with a chance of winning!”
Coleen’s support comes after the Mirror exclusively revealed Shane found himself “literally skint” ahead of his telly appearance.
After failing to save and lots of daft spending in his 40-year showbiz career, Shane found himself without a safety net when the pandemic hit.
Speaking just before entering Gwrych Castle, Shane said: “I was going on tour, doing a TV series and panto but it all got cancelled in March. Now I am literally skint!
“You save for a rainy day but you don’t expect the rainy day to last eight months. Thankfully, I’ve been able to borrow money from mates, my family and the bank."
He went on: “I got rid of my car but only cos I lease a car for my wife for the school run. I can get around on a moped.
“I am alright, I have had a career and if it all finishes tomorrow, so be it. If the worst comes to the worst, I’ll do stand-up or resurrect a musical.”
