Coleen Nolan feared ex-husband Shane Richie would 'lose his cool' on I'm A Celeb

Coleen Nolan says she expected her ex-husband Shane Richie to "lose his cool" in the camp but now hopes he makes it to the final.

Shane and Coleen were married for nine years in the 90s and had two sons together.

They remain friends and she has been following his castle adventures closely.

Speaking to her son Shane Jnr, she said: "Can I just say how proud I am of your dad?

"I think he is doing brilliantly, I really do. He is very funny and he has kept his cool. I thought he would have lost his cool by now.

"He gets bored very easily."

Shane, 56, has seen his TV career dwindle in the years since leaving EastEnders and Mirror Columnist Coleen, 55, believes doing well on the ITV show would be a real boost.

She added: "I would love Shane to be in the top three because I know how much it would mean to him.

As much as he puts on this bravado, I know it would mean a lot."

Shane married his current wife Christie in 2007 and they have three kids together.

Speaking last week Christie told how Shane had broken some rules his children asked him to stick to so as not to embarrass them.

Asked if Shane could win, Christie added: "I don't know it is up to everybody out there but he has got great support and his fans are amazing.

"It has been lovely to hear the kind words they are saying about him.

"It is anybody's game and you are only as good as your last episode. They are a great bunch and bring the best out of each other."
