Coleen McLoughlin's book secures the most flattering of blurbs

Because this week is all about the race for the Booker, Lost in Showbiz also has a copy of one of Coleen McLoughlin's new range of children's books in its wizened claws. Coleen Style Queen is Wayne Rooney's fiancee's tale of a girl called Coleen, who likes to give her friends style makeovers - and it's remarkable for one reason. The front cover of Coleen's book features a blurb endorsement from Coleen herself. Seriously! It reads "'Love it!' - Coleen McLoughlin".

The only time I have seen anything close to this is on the American comic Stephen Colbert's hilarious book I Am America (And So Can You!), the front cover of which features a strap reading "From the author of I Am America (And So Can You!), whilst the back cover has a picture of a grinning Colbert next to the quote "I laughed, I cried, I lost 15 pounds! I cannot recommend this book highly enough!"

Clearly, none of us should rest till Martin Amis's next book features a cover blurb reading "'I frickin' loved this insanely clever book' - Martin Amis".
