Live from Portofino, people, I bring you the details as they come! (Proviso: in the wake of the Ant and Dec, etc scandals, I should stress that I am not actually in Portofino. This is the Guardian, you know. We ain't no ITV)
Anyway, to the wedding!
Well, it's raining. Even £5million spent on a party can't guarantee the weather, I guess. But you know what they say on Sex and the City: the worse the wedding, the better the marriage. And rather fabulously, the ushers have black and white umbrellas to hold over the guests as they arrive. Black and white! So classy! I bet it pained Coleen not to get the hot pink ones from Juicy Couture.
Coleen's wedding dress isn't quite the "simple, chic, elegant" affair we were promised. Brielfly glimpsed, it looks decidedly pouffy, corseted beaded top half, lots of chiffon on the bottom. Two words: Disney princess. And she herself is so brown that for a minute I didn't even realise it was her, despite the rather obvious bridal outfit.
Colette, her wonderful mother, is wearing a beaded shawl around her shoulders and a pearl necklace. Nice, I think, but the two together might be a bit much but, come on - it is her daughter's wedding, one that she's been waiting for for a loooooong time.
