Coleen and Wayne Rooney ‘to renew wedding vows to mark 15th anniversary’

Wayne and Coleen Rooney are planning to walk down the aisle again to mark their 15th wedding anniversary, according to reports.

The former childhood sweethearts, both 37, have been married since 2008 and share four chiRldren together; Kai, 11, Klay, 8, Kit, 5 and Cass, 3.

It hasn’t always been plain sailing for the couple, with Coleen opting to stand by the retired professional football player-turned-manager all this time despite his public cheating and alcohol-related scandals.

After years of staying silent on the matter, the mum-of-four finally addressed his infidelity, saying it “wasn’t acceptable” in Wayne’s documentary last year.

Currently, they are said to be in a “really happy place” as the former Manchester United striker works overseas in America while Coleen remains in the UK with their young sons.

Renewing their wedding vows is seen as a way of putting their past woes firmly behind them.

“After everything they’ve been through, Coleen and Wayne plan to go all out for their 15th wedding anniversary. For them, it’ll mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another – hopefully less drama-filled – stage of their lives,” a source said.

“They’re planning a beautiful vow renewal, possibly in Barbados, with their closest friends and family. It’s their happy place and they want a quiet, understated, but romantic ceremony,” the insider dished to OK! magazine.

According to the publication, the WAG has been inspired by Wayne’s former England teammate Peter Crouch and his wife Abbey Clancy, who said “I do” for the second time with a lavish celebration in the Maldives in December.

The Standard has contacted a representative for Coleen Rooney for comment.
