Wayne and Coleen were dressed casually in jeans and t-shirts but beamed in the picture as they held the fluffy yellow duck - reports Belfast Live.

The restaurant shared the photo to Facebook and said: "No, this isn’t photoshop, your eyes don’t deceive you - it is in fact Wayne Rooney and his lovely wife Coleen in our restaurant!

"The pair called in for a tasty bite to eat this afternoon and were lovely enough to pose for a photo with our famous fluffy duck.

"Hope you enjoyed your meal guys!"

And the restaurant revealed what the couple ate in the comments as they replied to a commenter who asked by saying: "Bar board to share and then our scampi and beef chilli."

The bar board at The Dirty Duck Alehouse costs £18 features mini fish and chips, fried chicken and nachos, with their entire food bill coming to a reasonable £48.50.

Coleen and Wayne celebrated their wedding anniversary last weekend with a trip to London with three of their sons.

The couple went to an England game at Wembley and did some sightseeing in the capital city to mark their special day.

Coleen and Wayne's £5 million wedding day was held in the 14-century abbey in Santa Margherita Ligure in Italy.

Sixty of their closest friends and family were flown over for the blessing ceremony, which took place by candlelight in the ancient chapel, conducted by the couple's childhood priest.

Coleen wore a custom gown designed by Marchesa that was estimated to cost £200,000.

It featured an enormous sweeping skirt made up of fans of frilled silk organza, which joined her simple strapless bodice at the waist with a plain silk ribbon.
