Coldplay won’t tour their new album in an attempt to help the environment.
The band’s frontman Chris Martin said: “We’re taking time to see how our tour can be actively beneficial.”
“All of us have to work out the best way of doing our job,” he told BBC News.
Martin said he was was trying to work out how to make their future tours ”have a positive impact” on the world.
The band’s last tour, which coincided with their previous record A Head Full of Dreams, saw them perform 122 shows in four different continents.
Martin said he wants the band’s next tour to “...be the best possible version of [one] like that environmentally,” adding: ”We would be disappointed if it’s not carbon neutral.”
Coldplay are about to release their new album, which is titled Everyday Life.
“In a very gentle British way, this record is us saying we don’t feel different from any human on earth,” Martin said.
Coldplay will perform a one-off show at the Natural History Museum on 25 November, the proceeds of which will be donated to an environmental charity.
