Coldplay will perform at the Super Bowl 50 half-time show, multiple sources have reported.
The British rockers will headline the annual mid-game spectacle on 7 Feburary at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal.
A formal announcement is expected on Thursday ahead of the Friday release of A Head Full of Dreams, the band’s seventh studio album. The half-time show performance will come one month before the group travels to South America in March to launch their first tour in four years.
Previous Super Bowl half-time show headliners include Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Madonna and Prince.
Coldplay will be the first rock band to headline the sponsored spectacle since the Who at Super Bowl XLIV in February 2010.
