Coldplay's Chris Martin has revealed his band's collaboration with K-Pop group BTS is all thanks to actor Simon Pegg's daughter.
Tilly Pegg, 12, is Chris' goddaughter and it was apparently her love of the boyband that introduced the Yellow singer to their music.
BTS, also known as the Bangtam Boys is made up of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, who range in age from 23 to 28.
The band formed in 2012 and have amassed a whopping 50million followers on Instagram.
Speaking to Hits Radio Chris said: "My goddaughter Tilly, who is Simon Pegg's daughter, she's a massive ARMY, she's who got me into BTS."
ARMY stands for Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth, which is the fandom name given to the band's followers.
Chris was speaking to Tilly about Coldplay's new track My Universe and explained: "We were talking about the rap line and the singing line.
"So, I said to her do you think we should ask Suga and J-Hope if they want to do a rap in this song? And she said yeah definitely."
Speaking about the collaboration, Chris said, "It was a joy working with them.
"Because the song is about love that is difficult and has to overcome some boundaries, it just felt really good to be doing with a band... no one would ever put us together, those two bands.
"So there was the story of the song in the collaboration too."
"They were just really cool to work with. We love them, they're our little brothers.
"When it comes to playing it live without them, then we keep a bit of them on track and I sing what I can."
While Chris was impressed by the duo he joked he won't be replicating their contribution anytime soon: "I just can't do Suga's rap or J Hope's rap because that'd beyond my Korean," he said.
My Universe features on Coldplay's ninth album Music of the Spheres, which is out this Friday 15th October.
Chris became godfather to Tilly after Hot Fuzz actor Simon became godfather to Chris' daughter Apple, 17, who he shares with actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
The pair have been close friends for years with Simon sometimes spotted joining Chris for an impromptu gig.
In a video interview with GQ magazine in July 2018, the actor also revealed that his daughter Tilly had sung backing vocals for Coldplay onstage at Glastonbury Festival.
