Coldplay reveal details of new album Everyday Life in newspaper classified advert placed next to notice of fridge for sale

Multi-platinum selling megastars Coldplay took the unusual step of announcing details of their new album in the classifieds section of a Welsh newspaper.

The pop band revealed the tracklisting for their eighth studio LP Everyday Life in our sister paper The North Wales Daily Post .

The ad appeared alongside items for sale including a fridge freezer and a bale of hay and below a Welsh Government public notice.

Ahead of the notice going to press, Coldplay - fronted by singer Chris Martin - dropped a series of hints about the album in a letter to fans.

The letter said: "In the classifieds you might write 'double album for sale, one very careful owner'. One half is called 'sunrise', the other half is called 'sunset'.

"It is sort of how we feel about things. We send much love to you from hibernation."

Coldplay has strong links to north Wales, with the band's lead guitarist Jonny Buckland having grown up near Mold , Flintshire.

Jonny said: "I once had a holiday job at the Daily Post, placing photos of houses for sale. I wasn't very good at it."
