Coldhearted thief steals from Scots charity supporting blind war veterans

A coldhearted thief has broken into a charity supporting blind war veterans as cops said it was "beggars belief" someone could be so callous.

The Scottish War Blind Society in Hawkhead Road, Paisley, was targeted by the thief who stolen two large flat screen televisions from the premises.

Staff members reported the incident on Thursday when they made they discovered someone had broken in.

Police have launched a manhunt for the person responsible and are urging anyone with information to get in touch.

Inspector Tracy Harkins said '"It beggers belief that someone can be so callous that they could steal from a local charity.

"The centre offers an excellent facility for ex- service men and women living with significant sight loss and is often the only time that the service users get to socialise in a safe environment.

"If you have any information that may assist us in our enquiries please contact Police Scotland on 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous telephone Crime Stoppers on 0800555111."
