Royal fans have been popping open the bubbly and toasting what seems like a long-awaited arrival for Baby Sussex.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also managed the impossible by keeping their son's dawn arrival a secret for hours .

It's all in keeping with the new parents' unapologetic desire for privacy and to reveal details of their newborn only on their own terms .

This isn't surprising when you consider Meghan is believed to have pitied the fanfare and circus the Duchess of Cambridge had to contend with.

To this end, the Sussexes have famously skipped the new baby photo shoot outside the hospital in favour of just hunkering down with their tiny son away from cameras.

It's a decision which has come as a disappointment to some.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards revealed what might be part of Harry's motivation to forego the iconic - but very public - photocall.

"There's a kind of uneasy relationship between the media and Harry at the moment," Edwards told 9Honey .

"He's very resentful of some of the stories that have been written about Meghan, mostly coming from Meghan's family in America, but he still feels obviously [that] we're the messengers."

He continued: "We're getting the cold shoulder so I don't think he's in any mood to consider us when he's planning the photographs of his new baby."
