Lanarkshire locals have again been warned to be on their guard after another attempted burglary involving cold callers.
The incident in Cambuslang followed recent attempts in both Hamilton and East Kilbride.
A statement for South Lanarkshire Council's trading standards team read: "We’ve received a report from police about another distraction burglary, this time in Cambuslang.
"It’s the same approach as the last report – a male has tried to gain entry to an elderly woman’s home by claiming there’s a water pressure issue in the neighbourhood.
"Unfortunately, we don’t have much information concerning the male as the woman is partially sighted and there were no other witnesses.
"Again, please make elderly and vulnerable family and friends aware of this incident and advise them not to let unsolicited callers into their home.
"The last reported victim was in Hamilton, so it appears this is happening all over South Lanarkshire, not just in one area."
All suspicious activity should be reported to Police Scotland on 101. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Anyone made to feel unsafe or threatened in any way, should contact police on 999.
