A 12-year-old girl was rescued by lifeboat crews after drifting half a mile out to sea on an inflatable ring.
Coastguard teams were called to Hornsea in Yorkshire on Sunday evening after the child had drifted out to sea.
The crew quickly located and recovered the girl who was cold and a little afraid but otherwise unharmed.
She was checked over and was then taken back to the boathouse with the lifeboat crew before her family later arrived, HullLive reports.
In a statement on Facebook, HM Coastguard Hornsea posted: "Tasked by Humber Coastguard Operations Centre to a report from National Coastwatch Institution Hornsea of a child drifting out to sea on an inflatable toy.

"Hornsea Inland Rescue were also tasked.
"The lifeboat located and rescued the 12 year old child and inflatable toy approximately half a mile out to sea and took them back to the lifeboat station.
"The child was checked over by coastguards and lifeboat crew then warmed up in the boathouse until family arrived."
Coxswain Steve Hall believes the incident highlights the major risk posed by using inflatables in the sea.

He said: “Fortunately we were very quickly on the scene as the incident had been spotted and reported by Hornsea Coastwatch who had then called the Coastguard who in turn tasked Hornsea Inshore Rescue.
“Our crew then ensured a very quick launch and we were able to rescue the casualty.
“It once again emphasises the danger of using inflatable toys and airbeds in the sea. An offshore breeze can so quickly have them well out to sea in no time and a tragedy could then happen.
"The girl’s family met her at the Hornsea Inshore Rescue headquarters soon after the recovery and gave a warm thanks to the crew who more than likely had saved her life.”
