'Coincidence?' - Chelsea fans notice what Erling Haaland's father has done amid transfer links

The future of Erling Haaland continues to be one of the hottest topics of debate ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is one of the most sought-after players in world football after a fantastic 18-month spell in the Bundesliga, with Chelsea among a number of clubs understood to be interested in signing the 20-year-old.

Haaland only cost Dortmund a fee of around €20million (£17.2million) in January 2020, but will already fetch a fee worth many multiples of that with the top clubs in Europe said to be interested.

Chelsea's Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are among the other clubs reported to be interested in signing Haaland, while European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are also thought to hold a serious interest in the Norwegian international, who scored another two goals for Dortmund today against FC Koln.

That took his tally to 39 goals in 36 games for club and country this season, with fans of the interested clubs all hoping that they will be his next destination.

And the social media activity of Haaland's father Alfie has got Chelsea fans talking, with some Blues supporters believing they may have spotted a clue after the former Leeds and Manchester City midfielder started following the west London club on Instagram.

Here's what some fans have been saying on social media.

This comes after Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich spoke out in a rare interview about his time at the club and his aims for the Blues, who are busy preparing for an FA Cup quarter-final against Sheffield United tomorrow.

In addition, Chelsea are hoping to finish in the top four again this season to qualify for next season's Champions League, with the Blues also in the last eight of Europe's top club competition this season.

Chelsea will face Porto in the quarter-finals, while Haaland's Dortmund are also in the last eight, with the Bundesliga side drawn to face Manchester City.

Dortmund have reportedly not yet set a price on a departure for Haaland, and the striker will reportedly have to convince the Bundesliga club's leaders to enter a negotiation to sell him.

But with reports in Spain suggesting that Real Madrid are set to make a move this summer, Dortmund chiefs could soon find themselves with a difficult decision to make.

Whether Chelsea will be able to convince him to move to Stamford Bridge instead remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain, Blues fans would love for it to happen.
