'Coffin Confessor' deliberately disrupts funerals - at the request of the dead

A private investigator has revealed how he is paid to disrupt funerals - at the request of the people being buried.

Australian Bill Edgar - who brands himself a 'Coffin Confessor' - has opened up about the unusual things he is asked to do.

On one occasion, he told the Gold Coast Bulletin , a 79-year-old man asked him to butt in when his best pal was giving a eulogy - telling him: "I know you were trying to screw my wife."

Another mourner was told to "f*** off" as Mr Edgar read from a note left by the deceased.

The congregation at the service quickly dispersed, apparently fearing they would be at the sharp end of the dead man's wrath.

Mr Edgar has now done jobs across Australia, which generally require him to make 'confessions'.

Among these are admissions of infidelity and minor crimes.

He charges thousands of dollars for the service, which can be very difficult.

But not all his tasks are bitter or resentful - each month he sends a letter from a woman who died to her husband.

Mr Edgar said: "Part of it will say 'Please don't ever forget me because I will never forget you'.

"Some of this is just so beautiful."

An online description of the service he provides says: "Engaged by those knocking on death's door Mr Edgar is to interrupt their funeral services without care or concern for anyone but his client.

"He lets those his client loved know just how much they were loved and those they loved to hate to f*** off."
