Coffee with Hillary Clinton among lots in May Sotheby's auction for coronavirus relief

Hillary Clinton, Sting, Sacha Baron Cohen and Sir Patrick Stewart have offered up prizes for a new Google and Sotheby's auction to aid coronavirus relief.

The May Day auction (opening 1st May) will offer up a series of dream experiences as lots, with all money raised going towards the International Rescue Committee (IRC)'s work in dealing with and preventing the spread of COVID-19 in vulnerable communities.

Experiences up for grabs include a coffee with Hillary Clinton, a private acting lesson with Sir Patrick Stewart, a hangout with Sacha Baron Cohen and a virtual tour of the Downton Abbey set, Highclere Castle, joined by stars of the show.

Music legend Sting is also offering up the chance to record a song with him, including some vocal styling and performance tips.

Space junkies can also bid on a private conversation with Apollo 9 astronaut Russell Schweickart, the first spacewalker of the Apollo program, or those interested in politics can have a chat with former British Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

CEO of Sotheby’s Charles F. Stewart said of the auction, “We are proud to contribute to pandemic relief at this extraordinary time. Many of our clients around the world have enquired about supporting Covid-19 relief efforts and, with the partnership of Google and so many leading figures who have pledged to support this unique auction event of virtual experiences, we are looking forward to supporting the efforts of the International Rescue Committee.”

The auction will run from 1st - 8th May.
