Coffee shop to open on Christmas Day serving hot drinks and sandwiches to anyone who feels lonely

A Woolton coffee shop is opening its doors on Christmas Day serving free hot drinks and sandwiches to anyone in need.

Coast Cafe Bistro took to its Facebook page to confirm it would be continuing its annual tradition and insisted even those who have never visited before would be welcome.

In the post its team said: "We are going to continue the tradition started last year of opening on Christmas Day giving away teas, coffees and butties to anyone who fancies calling in.

"Whether you're a regular visitor or on your own at a loose end, pop in and say hello.

"If you know anyone who might fancy a free cuppa please let them know we will be open from 9.30am-12pm."

This means anyone who may be feeling lonely during Christmas morning will be able to go somewhere for a hot drink or even just a conversation.

Coast has a huge following in Woolton Village and regularly gets five star TripAdvisor reviews. It has had 363 reviews on TripAdvisor and 253 of these have been five star ratings.

Since confirming its news, its followers have been quick to praise the coffee shop.

Julie Holden said: "Brilliant guys! Merry Xmas xx."

Leah Till said: "Good will to all x bless you."

And, Ann Hobbs said: "What a kind thing to do. Happy Christmas xxx."
