Cult coffee brand Grind has announced the launch of its debut book after venturing into publishing following lockdown.
‘Grind - A Modern Guide to City Living’ will feature a collection of humorously useful guides to modern city life, short stories and favourite recipes from a decade of serving up coffee, food and cocktails.
Written during the Covid-19 pandemic - a time when people have missed city living more than ever - the book celebrates the daily rituals of London life. Designed in Grind’s signature pink, it will serve as the ultimate coffee table companion for any apartment or office in modern cities across the globe.
Creative director and author of the book, Teddy Robinson, said: “In 2012, I got a job washing dishes at Shoreditch Grind, because I needed the money and because I really fancied one of the baristas who worked there.
"Nine years later, I spent lockdown on my own in my tiny flat, writing a coffee table book. These guides are from a time, and a place. They’re from far too many overheard conversations from the queue, and absolutely, under no circumstances, to be taken as good advice.”
The move to publishing reflects a year of dramatic changes for Grind which was forced to close its cafes and restaurants for the first time in a decade, seeing the business pivot online to make barista-quality coffee at home, with more than 10 million of its compostable coffee pods sold in the last year.
Grind At Home is the brand’s collection of products designed to help people create great coffee and enjoy the chain's experience at home.
