Cody Zeller has opened up a lemonade stand to keep Kemba Walker

Kemba Walker is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and the three-time All Star will more or less have his pick of teams to go to. (Of the ones that can afford him anyway.) In the driver’s seat, however, are the Charlotte Hornets, his current team, as they can offer him a $221 million extension, quite a bit more than any other team.

(I’d dive into the NBA free agency rules about why this is, but I really don’t want to. Here’s a primer if you are on a quest for knowledge.)

Anyway, the rest of the Hornets are obviously keen on keeping their star guard, and center Cody Zeller is leading the charge — by opening up a lemonade stand and then posting an image of it to Instagram.

The image shows Zeller selling lemonade at 25 cents a pop, with the goal of raising $221 million to pay for Kemba’s supermax contract.

At that rate, he’s just gotta sell 884,000,000 cups of lemonade to hit the mark. Charlotte, it’s time to get thirsty. And also time to get diabetes.

Well done, Cody. It’s the offseason and I’m sure you earned some Instagram followers with this bit. I respect the commitment to it. Well done.
