Cody Whitehair suffers finger injury, Nagy insists he’ll be fine

The Chicago Bears are one of few teams that return all of their starting offensive linemen from last season, and it’s that stability that looks to play into the success of the unit in 2019.

The only change-up has come at left guard and center, as Cody Whitehair and James Daniels returned to their natural positions of guard and center, respectively.

During Wednesday’s night practice, which simulated a real game, Whitehair left practice with a finger injury. But it doesn’t appear to be serious.

Elsewhere on the injury front, second-year receiver Anthony Miller didn’t participate in practice, as he recovers from a sprained ankle suffered last Saturday. But Nagy sounded encouraged by his status, and he expects him to be ready for the regular-season opener against the Packers.

The Bears will travel to New York on Friday to play the Giants in their second preseason game, where many starters aren’t expected to see the field.
