Cody Kessler looking forward to Senior Bowl game

Jan. 28--After three days of workouts under the watchful eye of NFL coaches and scouts, Cody Kessler is looking forward to Saturday's Senior Bowl game.

The former USC quarterback has shared repetitions with North Dakota State's Carson Wentz, Stanford's Kevin Hogan and Louisiana Tech's Jeff Driskel on a North team coached by Jason Garrett and his Dallas Cowboys staff.

Most of the scouts and general managers left after Thursday's workouts. They will review the game on tape.

Kessler, who had a pass intercepted Thursday, said he considered the practices and game of equal importance as he prepares for the NFL draft.

"They want to see how you can practice in an NFL practice, in an NFL system and then, obviously, how you play when you get guys out there," he said. "It's been a really good three days, and now you get to go out there and play against another team and get live reps."

Kessler worked with Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson.

"I got a lot of great pointers," he said. "It's been a really cool week to be able to hear their terminology and how they explain things. And then you watch film the way they watch and they explain everything.

"It has been great for me. I'm trying to take everything in."

USC fullback Soma Vainuku, UCLA receiver Jordan Payton and Bruins kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn are also on the North team.
