Cody Kessler, Julian Edelman present for Patriots practice in Week 4

Quarterback Cody Kessler and a new tight end, likely a practice-squad player, were present for New England Patriots practice on Wednesday in Week 4, according to reporters on the scene. Kessler signed with the Patriots on Wednesday, per a report. The Patriots have yet to announce the arrival (and identity) of the new tight end.

Receiver Julian Edelman was another notable attendee amid the Patriots’ perfect attendance. He left Week 3 action with a chest injury at halftime and didn’t return to the game. A pair of tacklers hit him hard as he went to the ground on a short pass in the second quarter, and he came up holding the right side of his midsection. X-rays reportedly came back negative.

The team will release their first injury report of the week in the afternoon on Wednesday. The Patriots (3-0) are slated to play the Bills in Buffalo on Sunday.
