Cody Drameh's Leeds United exit message and his teammates' reactions

Cody Drameh says he "can't wait" to get started at Cardiff City.

The Leeds United full-back made the switch to the Championship side on loan on Wednesday evening and the 20-year-old has sent a message via his Instagram.

"Very happy to be here, can't wait to start playing for this great club," wrote the player Leeds signed from Fulham's academy.

Several of his teammates from Leeds' Under 23 side posted messages of encouragement, with Crysencio Summerville writing "let's get it," as well as Lewis Bate writing "good luck brother."

Alongside those messages, Fabrizio Romano - who first broke the story of the loan - wrote "good luck Cody."

Drameh chose to take the loan deal to the Championship, despite playing for Leeds' first-team five times in recent months, including three Premier League appearances, with one start.

However, he felt there would be more consistent minutes available to him in the Championship. He will have been aware that Jamie Shackleton is expected to return to fitness in February, meaning that in a few weeks time he could be back to being fourth choice at right back, despite the minutes he has played recently.

In today's pre-match press conference ahead of the Premier League fixture against West Ham United, Marcelo Bielsa was asked for his thoughts regarding the move and he made it clear it was not his choice for the player to leave:

"[I] did not think he needed to play games elsewhere. He was a player who was very necessary with all of the absences we have. He preferred to go and play outside of Leeds.

"In a situation with opportunities for youngsters has increased clearly, in this case, Drameh would prefer to experiment outside our team. I consider that position valid and I do not think it makes sense to oppose him.

"What I imagined as a great opportunity, he imagined it in a different way."
