Cocaine, cannabis worth €43K, cash and imitation gun discovered in raids in Hardwicke Street, Dublin

Gardai seized drugs worth €43,000, cash and an imitation firearm following raids on a number of flats in Dublin.

Over €40,000 worth of cannabis, cocaine worth €3,000 and €4,500 in cash was seized in the operation in the north inner city.

Officers swooped on the seven flats in the Hardwicke Street area at 4pm on Thursday afternoon.

An imitation handgun and pepper-spray were also recovered.

The operation is part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs and is specifically targeting those involved in street level dealing in the north inner city area, Dublin Live reports.

Gardaí from the District Community Action Team based at Mountjoy Station were involved assisted by Emergency Response, Armed Support and local Roads Policing Units.

Three men in their 20s were arrested in connection to the operation and quizzed at Mountjoy Garda Station.

However, they were later released without charge on Thursday night.

A garda spokesperson said: "Three men arrested in connection with an operation in the Hardwicke Street area of Dublin City Centre yesterday, Thursday, February 6, 2020,were released last night without charge, a file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions."
