Coca-Cola issues urgent warning to customers after packaging fault

Coca-Cola fans have been warned not to get stuck into some of its products.

The company issued a warning about its 1.5litre bottles, explaining that the neck rings might be damaged.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) wrote: "Coca-Cola European Partners is issuing precautionary advice for opening Coca-Cola Original Taste 1.5 litre PET bottles because the bottles may have damaged neck rings which means that the bottle might have a sharp rim edge which could present a safety risk on opening."

A statement issued by Coca-Cola added: "The bottle neck ring might have a sharp and uneven rim edge which could present a safety risk on opening."
