Coatbridge street 'assault' sees man rushed to hospital with serious leg injury

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following an incident in Coatbridge.

Police responded to reports of an assault in the Blair Road area of Coatbridge around 9:30pm last night (November 12).

The 29-year-old sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie for treatment.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and are asking anyone who may have any information to contact them.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 9.30pm on Friday, 12 November, to a report of an assault in the Blair Road area of Coatbridge.

A 29-year-old man sustained a serious leg injury and was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie for treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Anyone with information that could help with our enquiries is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting Incident Number 3777 of Friday, 12 November, 2021.”
