Coatbridge singer of TRNSMT stage headliners hoping duo can return next year

The Coatbridge singer of an ever-growing female duo says the pair have set their sights on playing at TRNSMT again next year.

The Eves headlined the Queen Tut’s stage on the Glasgow Green festival’s Sunday night.

Pals Marissa Keltie, from Coatbridge, and Caroline Gilmour have been going from strength to strength recently and hope their appearance at the popular festival can be a springboard to even more success.

Marissa told the Advertiser: “It was a very good day all round.

“We couldn’t have asked for better weather and we were both wearing sleeveless tops until about midnight.

“The set went really well and the crowd were very receptive.

“This was our first proper band gig and it was an amazing experience.”

Marissa added: “On the scale of things, it will take a lot to beat headlining a stage on the Sunday of a festival.

“We had a couple of hundred people watching us which we were chuffed with considering we were competing with Lewis Capaldi at the time!

“We had pretty much a free pass for the whole place and saw a lot of the big stars.

“We’d love to play on the main stage but that would take years to get to; this has given us something to aspire towards, though.

“Playing on the King Tuts stage next year would be a step-up – and is maybe achievable.

“DF Concerts were great and really looked after us so we’d love to go back.”
