Coatbridge shooting: man arrested and charged after gun fired at car

A man has been arrested and charged after a shooting in Coatbridge.

The incident took place in the afternoon of Saturday November 21 when the gun was fired at a Seat Leon on Marnoch Drive.

Police have now confirmed a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting and will appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today.

A Police Scotland statement released this afternoon confirmed: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in Coatbridge.

"The incident happened around 4.05pm on Saturday, 21 November, 2020 when a firearm was discharged at a red Seat Leon car on Marnoch Drive.

"The man is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Thursday, 3 December, 2020."
