Coatbridge school pupils raise three-figure sum for Children in Need

IT was a teddy bear’s picnic for pupils of Carnbroe Primary after they raised a three-figure sum in aid of a children’s charity.

Members of the house committee at the Coatbridge school organised a host of Pudsey-inspired activities, including a zumbathon, “guess the bear’s birthday” competition and a bake sale, with a grand total of £522.67 raised for Children in Need.

Thrilled class teacher Elizabeth Steele was full of praise for the enterprising kids and their fundraising efforts.

She told the Advertiser: “The house committee have done a really great job. They actually loved organising the events.

“The children got the music together for the zumbathon and we raised most of the money through the cake bake and the bear’s birthday.”

And it was a big thumbs up from Pudsey who collected his fundraising cheque from members of the house committee during a special school assembly.
