Buzz Bingo has announced that its Coatbridge club will reopen on Thursday, August 27.
The club at Faraday retail park has “extensive health and safety measures” in place as it opens its doors for the first time since lockdown – and is introducing a new game which will see a donation made to the NHS.
Nicola Sturgeon confirmed yesterday that bingo clubs would be able to reopen from next week, in the latest revision to the country’s coronavirus phase three measures.
Buzz say they will reopen in Coatbridge from 10am on Thursday, with the new measures including a maximum capacity and seats being out of use, social distancing markers both in and outside, perspex screens, sanitising stations and frequent cleaning.
They add that there will be “continued personal support for all customers, extending the ‘Buzz Buddies’ support offered in lockdown for elderly and vulnerable customers”.

Meanwhile, its NHS Lucky Stars initiative will see five pence from each sale of a paper book or touchpad package donated to the health service “as a thanks to local NHS workers for their tireless efforts during the pandemic”.
Buzz Bingo chief retail officer Peter Brigden said: “It’s been a long few months without seeing our lovely customers, and we cannot wait to reopen our doors.
“We want to reassure customers that their health and safety is our number one priority – we’ve spent the last few months eagerly preparing for their return and putting all the necessary measures in place to keep them safe.
“The club is at the heart of the community and offers an open and friendly space for members to be amongst friends; our colleagues have been missing their regular players and are really looking forward to welcoming them and new players.”
