Residents post uplifting messages on tree to help Coatbridge community

COATBRIDGE residents have found a novel way to alleviate lockdown woes by posting their hopes and dreams on a ‘wishing tree’.

During their daily strolls around Dunbeth park, local walkers and visitors have been attaching uplifting notes and messages to the branches of the tree, in a bid to bring some positivity during lockdown.

Coatbridge woman Lucy Allan told the Advertiser: “I walk round the park daily and this tree brings a lot of joy and positivity to the area during this time.

“It was started on May 19 and there is already lots of wishes on it.

“I hope it will bring the community together and be something for everyone to see and enjoy!“

And so far the wishing tree is proving to be very popular with many local people having already posted messages to lift the spirits of their fellow citizens.
