Coatbridge police incident 'not suspicious' after young man rushed to hospital

Police say an incident which led to the lockdown of a Coatbridge train station and a young man being rushed to hospital is being deemed as 'not suspicious'.

Emergency services raced to Coatbridge Sunnyside in the north of Glasgow and the station was shut down while train services were disrupted.

The young man was found unconscious and quickly taken to hospital where he is now recovering, officers confirmed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 4.20pm on Tuesday February 18 police received a report of a young man being found unconscious in Gartsherrie Road, Coatbridge.

"Emergency services attended.

"He was taken to hospital where he is recovering.

"The circumstances are not deemed suspicious."
