A new Coatbridge nightclub will finally open its doors tonight following this week’s move to beyond level zero of Scotland’s coronavirus restrictions.
Eden, located at the Quadrant centre on Main Street in the town centre, will host a long-awaited opening party to mark its first night of welcoming revellers.
Nightclubs across the country were allowed to reopen this week for the first time since the first COVID-19 lockdown began 17 months ago, with no social distancing or face masks being required on dancefloors.
Formerly known as Platinum, the new Eden nightclub is a sister venue to cocktail bar Envy, located downstairs in the same building.
Group manager Michelle Armstrong told Lanarkshire Live : “It’s been a really tough time.
"We had only just opened the doors to Envy when the COVID-19 restrictions came into place in 2020.
“Everyone has worked so hard to get the place open and we can hardly believe it’s finally happening.
“This will be a great opportunity for us all to enjoy a night we’ve all been waiting for such a long time.”
Entertainment at tonight’s opening will come from local DJ Jordan Alexander and from Ace Tribe Dance Co who will perform “circus-style fire acts”.
The venue is described as “Instagram-worthy” with its “luxurious and whimsical botanical surroundings,” and staff say the new venue will “allow Coatbridge locals to enjoy a big city-style night out, right on their doorstep”.
