Coatbridge mum caught carrying lock-back knife on residential street

A Coatbridge woman caught with a knife in public has been placed under supervision.

Julie Linden, 41, was apprehended on Sikeside Street on March 9.

The Cumbrae Crescent native was found to have a lock-back knife when she was searched by cops.

Her defence solicitor said: “She has to accept responsibility for not getting rid of it. She has a young family who depend on her.

“She could do with a bit of support and supervision.”

Sheriff Petra Collins said: “You should never have had this in your possession.

“I’ll take into account the significant background details and place you on a community payback order with supervision which will run for 12 months.”
