Coatbridge man who vanished after banging his head may be heading for Newcastle

POLICE are searching for a Coatbridge man who “banged his head” against a wall and may be heading to Newcastle.

Calum Wilson boarded a train bound for Glasgow Central at Motherwell station at 11am yesterday.

The 21-year-old was last seen two hours later at the Glasgow train station and it’s understood he bought a ticket to Edinburgh.

Calum was said to be acting “out of character” and may have been “confused” after hitting his head against a wall.

His loved ones issued a heartfelt plea for his safe return on social media as an appeal to help find him on Facebook has now been shared nearly 4000 times.

Police have revealed Calum may have travelled to Newcastle, with CCTV showing him boarding a train to Carlisle.

Calum was wearing a red Stone Island jacket, blue jeans and white trainers when he was last seen.

Officers say Calum is known to often frequent the Motherwell and Carluke areas and anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Motherwell police station on 101, quoting incident number 3027.
