Louise McKay has cruised through her cracking weight loss to scoop diamond status with Slimming World.
The Coatbridge gran sprang into action to tackle her dieting dilemmas ahead of her 65th birthday – and impending retirement – back in the summer of 2015.
Louise explained: “I was due to retire and my family enjoyed several cruises and were keen for my husband and I to share the experience.
“To achieve this, I knew I needed to make changes, so I joined my local Slimming World.
“I was apprehensive at the start, but was made to feel very welcome.
“Within two months I got my one-stone award; my confidence grew and I was meeting more new people, learning new recipes and sharing ideas.
“The support of my consultant Denise and other members helped me to continue on my journey.”
Louise added: “By February 2016, I had lost three-and-a-half stone and reached my personal target in time for my cruise.
“I’m much more active now and needed a whole new wardrobe.
“I continue to go to the club to maintain my target weight and was delighted to recently achieve diamond member award status.
“Slimming World is a way of life for my family and I and, this year, my two daughters and granddaughter have joined too.”
Louise’s Slimming World consultant, Denise Raybould, said: “Louise is an asset to the group and helps new and existing members.

“She has done amazingly well to achieve diamond status and we’re all very proud of her.”
