Coatbridge couple build their own Irish pub at home - complete with roaring fire

A Coatbridge couple have come up with the perfect solution to not being able to go down to their local for a pint amid the current restrictions - by build their own Irish pub in their garden.

The traditional style Irish pub, which looks like a real bar, has its very own log fire and features wall-to-wall Irish memorabilia, as well as modern touches such as a flat-screen TV and sound-system.

Behind the impressive feat are couple Sean and Emma, who were inspired to construct the pub having always wanted a space where family and friends could come together to watch sport and have a drink.

Sean, who works at Glasgow construction company atHome, started collecting memorabilia around two years ago from old-style bars and restaurants - and soon added to it with purchases from car boot sales and online marketplaces.

And speaking of the fireplace, it was installed with a beautiful carved wooden mantle shelf and a 100-year-old iron placed on top which originally belonged to Sean's gran.

The best part about the pub is that it's soundproof - so Sean, Emma and their family can let their hair down in it without noising up their neighbours.

Jealous isn't the word!
