The coastguard has launched an appeal after a kayak and an inflatable dinghy washed up on an Ayrshire island.

Rescuers at Belfast Coastguard found the items this morning on the Great Cumbrae and the island's coastguard team are currently at the scene.

And officials want anyone who recognises the boat or kayak to get in touch.

Their appeal reads: "If you recognise these items that have washed ashore on the Great Cumbrae, please give us a call.

"Cumbrae Coastguard Rescue Team are on-scene."

The Belfast Coastguard can be called on 02891 463933.
