Coastguard helicopter scrambled after diver 'taken ill'

A coastguard helicopter was spotted in Merseyside this week.

The aircraft was seen landing and taking off near Seacombe Ferry, on the Wirral. Coastguard for Port Erin, Isle of Man, confirmed they were attending to a diver who had 'taken ill'.

It is believed the casualty was transported to the mainland for medical attention. In a statement on April 11, Port Erin Coastguard said: "Yesterday Port Erin Team were paged to attend a report of a diver who has taken ill at Port St Mary Breakwater.
