Coast to Curragh charity cycle raises €145,000 as Rachael Blackmore and Barry Geraghty hop on the saddle

The Coast to Curragh charity cycle raised a whopping €145,000 as horse racing royalty hopped on their bikes to raise money for Cancer Trials Ireland.

On Saturday, 25 September some 300 people took part in the cycle as they past seven racecourses and two stud farms in a distance that stretched over 155km.

Rachael Blackmore, Shane Foley, Barry Geraghty, Paul Carberry, and nine-time UAE champion jockey Tadhg O’Shea were among those that participated as well as Pat Smullen's wife son and brothers.

All money raised will go to Cancer Trials Ireland and event organiser Gavin Lynch said: "We had a magic day on Saturday, and I was blown away by the huge turnout of cyclists and the generosity of the 2000 people who donated to Cancer Trials Ireland.
