Lockdown has proved fruitful for one Ayrshire hospitality group as they emerge from tough restrictions with a brand new restaurant.
Coast is the new bar and restaurant at The Gailes in Irvine that, unsurprisingly, has a nautical theme given the name of the new venture and its location.
The SimpsInns venue reopened when lockdown rules eased last week.
Owners Malcolm and Karen Simpson worked with a team of designers to source bespoke pieces for the new restaurant from UK and European suppliers.
“We are thrilled with how Coast has turned out,” explained Karen Simpson.
“The period of extended closure during lockdown was the right time for us to change the restaurant.
"It is something that had been on our minds for a while and we are just delighted it has all come together in time for reopening.”
Ms Simpson added: “We’ve been working closely with our SimpsInns executive chef Gavin McGill and team to create a delicious new menu for Coast.
“We have a range of light bites and sharing plates to tasty main courses and mouth-watering desserts."
"We’ve also kept some old favourites because we know how popular they are with our regular customers.”
SimpsInns also counts The Waterside in West Kilbride, Si in Irvine, The Riverside Inn in Ayr and the Old Loans Inn among its portfolio of restaurants and venues.
Coast is just one of a number of key developments at The Gailes and it ties in with work at the £1 million Si! Spa — Ayrshire’s new spa and wellness destination — that is already proving very popular for day spa and leisure breaks.
