ROHTAK: Five days after violence by protesters opposing the Agnipath scheme, the Rewari district administration on Tuesday ordered the shut down of all coaching centres, academies and gyms with immediate effect till further orders.
According to the order by Rewari deputy commissioner Ashok Garg, coaching centres, academies and gyms should remain closed and the concerned officials should implement the order strictly.
“It is anticipated that public or private property may be damaged or arsoned. In view of the prevailing situation, it is ordered to shut down all the coaching centres, academies and gyms with immediate effect,” the order stated.
Protests were also witnessed in neighbouring Mahendergarh district, where the law-and-order situation went out of control as youths blocked roads and smashed glasses of showrooms and vehicles.
