Coachella line-up 2019: Ariana Grande, Tame Impala and Childish Gambino confirmed to headline US festival in April

Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala will headline Coachella 2019.

The annual music festival, one of the largest and best known in the world, takes place in Indio, California, over two weekends in April.

It typically attracts some of the biggest names in music with previous headliners including Guns 'N' Roses, Lady Gaga and Drake.

Grande tweeted after the announcement: “Humbled and excited as hell Coachella. Thank u.”

Beyonce was a headliner last year. On Wednesday organisers revealed this year's headliners, with rapper Childish Gambino, AKA Donald Glover, set to perform on both Fridays, rock band Tame Impala to perform over two Saturdays and pop star Grande to appear on both Sundays.

Other artists scheduled to appear include Beyonce’s sister Solange, British group The 1975, the band Chvrches, rapper Kid Cudi and singer Janelle Monae.

Yesterday, TMZ reported that Kanye West had been billed as a headliner but pulled out because of disagreements over the stage.

Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival will take place on April 12-14 and April 19-21.
