The full lineup for Coachella has been released, with festival organisers opting for a headlining trio of AC/DC, Jack White and Drake.
Friday’s headliners AC/DC are currently promoting Rock or Bust, their first new album for six years. The band have recently been embroiled in difficulties. Drummer Phil Rudd was charged for attempting to procure murder in New Zealand, while guitarist and founder member Malcolm Young has left after being diagnosed with dementia.
On the Saturday, Jack White returns to the California festival. He played the festival as half of the White Stripes in 2003. On Sunday, Drake follows in the footsteps of Jay Z (2010) and Outkast (2014) as a bill-topping hip-hop act.
Other noteworthy names on the bill include Steely Dan, FKA Twigs, and Florence And The Machine, who is in the midst of a comeback after performing at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit Concert in October.
Elsewhere, there’s a mix of EDM acts (Axwell Ingrosso, DJ Snake, Yellow Claw), off-kilter hip-hop (Tyler, The Creator, Lil B) and indie (the Cribs, Interpol, Belle & Sebastian).
Coachella takes place on successive weekends: 10-12 April, and 17-19 April.
