Coach Watts has no dramas with Rebels withdrawals

Newcastle Rebels coach Aaron Watts has no concerns about having to re-jig his representative squad ahead of his side's clash against Illawarra in Wollongong on Sunday week.

The Rebels have been hit hard by withdrawals with five players pulling out of the 20-man squad chosen a couple of weeks ago.

Key player: Cessnock's Tyronne Roberts-Davis.

They include Cessnock brothers Gerome and Denzel Burns, who walked out on the Goannas a week ago and are no longer playing in the Newcastle competition, while The Entrance' Jacob McCudden, Blake Andrews [Wyong] and Cooper Jenkins [Maitland] have also withdraw.

Watts has bolstered the squad with the addition of James Bradley [Maitland], Jake Dooley [Souths] and Kurri captain coach Mitch Cullen.

"I'm not worried about the blokes who can't play for whatever reason," Watts said. "My only focus is on the guys who are going to be playing."

Cessnock centre Tyronne Roberts-Davis will be among the key players for the Rebels in Wollongong.
