Thailand coach Sirisak Yodyardthai confirmed yesterday that captain Teerasil Dangda will be in the national squad for the King's Cup although the striker is still nursing an injury.
The 47th King's Cup will be held at Buriram United's Chang Arena from June 5-8.
On the opening day, the hosts will face Southeast Asian champions Vietnam and Curacao take on India.
The winners will meet in the final and the losers will play in the third-place play-off on June 8.
Sirisak said Teerasil was recovering from an ankle injury and may not be fit for the match against Vietnam.
"Doctors say he should be about 70 percent fit on June 4, one day before the opening match. We will have to see if he will be able to start in the first match," said Sirisak.
"But he will be 100 percent fit on the final day of the tournament. So I can say that he will be in the team for the King's Cup."
The SCG Muang Thong United star has played for his country 99 times and Sirisak earlier indicated he would earn his 100th cap at the King's Cup.
Sirisak said he was testing two systems for his players to use during the tournament.
Several players have pulled out of the team for various reasons including playmaker Chanathip Songkrasin who is injured.
Sirisak will trim his squad from 35 players to 23 today before they travel to Buri Ram.
Thailand aim to beat their Southeast Asian foes Vietnam and go on to lift the prestigious trophy.
They finished second last year after losing to Slovakia in the final.
