Coach hosts its Dream Day empowerment event in Hackney with Maya Jama and boxer Ramla Ali

Meghan Markle wasn’t the only one supporting London young people this weekend. Radio presenter Maya Jama and boxer and model Ramla Ali also did their bit.

The duo were among the celebrity attendees at Coach’s ‘Dream Day’ – an event conjured to help inspired young people hardest hit by inequality, homelessness and poor mental health – at East London’s Bridge Academy School.

In partnership with UK Youth, the charity which seeks to provide support to 9-25 year olds who are struggling to develop skills and fully meet their potential, the event spanned kicked off with a talk from female featherweight champion boxer, change maker Ali.

Maya Jama made a surprise appearance, delighting the hundred plus young people in attendance. The day of activities also included workshops, mentoring sessions as well as dance and spoken word performances from Steppaz Dance Company and poet Malika Sandover.
