A Co-Op was cordoned off on Friday after a late-night burglary.
Merseyside Police confirmed that the store on Fylde Road in Southport was targeted by three or four men in a silver car who forced entry to the shop at around 11.10pm. The group stole money and in the process damaged tills and systems.
The shop is likely to remain closed for the majority of the day as police carry out an investigation and repairs are made. Less than a year ago the same store was targeted in a ram raid that saw the front of the shop smashed by a car.

It was reported that tools had been used to break into the shop before attacking the cash machine inside the store and pulling out using a vehicle on March 18, 2022. They then fled towards Water Lane in a black car.
Merseyside Police said about the most recent burglary: "Crime scene investigators are at the CO-OP store on Fylde Road in Southport, following a burglary at the store last night.
"At 11.11pm 3/4 men have arrived in what is believed to be a silver car and forced entry to the store. Money has been stolen and in the process, damage has been caused to tills and systems.
"The store is likely to remain closed for some time today, while investigations are completed and repairs are made. We are appealing for anyone in the Fylde Road area who may have seen a silver car, possibly a Ford Fiesta between 11.00pm and 11.30pm last night.
"Do you have CCTV or dash cam footage which may have picked up this car? If you do, please call 101 and quote crime reference number 23000016597."
